A continuation of Kemball's letter to Malet of the previous day (ff 274-75), Kemball outlines the challenges faced by the Indian Naval Squadron in the Persian Gulf The historical term used to describe the body of water between the Arabian Peninsula and Iran. , given that there are three different sets of measures to be taken against vessels found carrying slaves, dependent on whether they are vessels from the Arabian coast, Persia, or the dominions of the Ottoman empire.
