The letter is confirmation that Sheikh Mahomed ben Khuleefa [Muhammad bin Khalifa] has paid the sum of 116 dollars to a Bahraini inhabitant, originally taken from the latter by the Sheikh's dependents. The letter contains a translated extract of correspondence from Sheikh Muhammad bin Khalifa to Kemball, dated 6 February 1853, in which Sheikh Muhammad confirms the restoration of money via the Bahrain Agent Hajee Jassim, which he understood to already have been completed until he received Kemball's letter.
