In this letter, William Bruce, Resident at Bushire, informs Sir William Grant Keir of his decision to join HMS Eden on her voyage along the Arab coast in search of Wahabe [ Wahhābī A follower of the Islamic reform movement known as Wahhabism; also used to refer to the people and territories ruled by the Al-Saud family. ] boats. Bruce recounts taking and destroying boats at Rasselkhyma [Ra's al-Khaymah] and Asseloo [Bandar-e ‘Asalūyeh]. Bruce forwards despatches (not included) received from His Royal Highness the Prince at Shurauz [Shiraz] and HM Chargé d’Affaires of the Court of Tahrame [Tehran] respectively.
