In this letter, William Bruce, Resident at Bushire, encloses the first of exchange (not included) for 687 rupees Indian silver coin also widely used in the Persian Gulf. on the Military Paymaster, in favour of the Government. Bruce states that the amount has been advanced to Lieutenant William MacDonald, for expenses incurred by the HC dow A term adopted by British officials to refer to local sailing vessels in the western Indian Ocean.
