About this record
- Content
This letter is a response to Government commands, dated 1 October, which informed William Bruce that some tents had been supplied to HMS Topaze , on the expedition against Mocka in November 1820. The commands also relayed a request from the Governor in Council, Mountstuart Elphinstone, for Bruce to report on what had become of the tents. Bruce responds by stating that previous to the Topaze's departure from Mocka a number of tents were sent from there to the Honourable Company ship Ernad [?], for the purpose of being returned to the stores. Bruce adds that some of the tents were reportedly lost over board.
