The letter is acknowledging the receipt of the commands of the Bombay Government, dated 3 April 1822 (No 433 of 1822), which instructed the Resident to forward a packet to HM chargé d'affaires at the Court of Persia. It notes that as per Henry Willock's instructions, dated 3 April 1822, the Resident has retained the public letters at Bushire and forwarded the private correspondence to Tabreez [Tabriz].
