The letter is enclosing a copy of the Resident's communication to the Governor General of the same date (see f 34v). It further updates the Bombay Government on the Resident's recent progress in raising funds at Bushire for the use of British forces at Bassidore [Bāsaʻīdū], and outlines the Resident's decision to maintain a sum of 50,000 rupees Indian silver coin also widely used in the Persian Gulf. at Bushire so that future requests for funds may be more promptly attended to.
