The letter is reporting that the Resident has presented the gifts supplied by the Bombay Government for the Imam of Muscat, the Shaikh of Bahrain, and the Shaikh of Bushire.

It notes that Hoossien Ali Meerza [Ḥusayn ‘Alī Mirzā], Prince at Shiraz, is likely to be detained at Tehran for some time, and he has not yet been able to present his gifts to him. The letter further explains that the Resident has been informed that the gifts supplied for the Prince are not of sufficient value, and requests that additional articles are sent to make up the shortfall; a list articles which are understood to be most acceptable is included in the letter.
