In this letter James Pringle Riach, Assistant Surgeon, Bushire, informs Captain Charles Sealy, Senior Marine Officer in the Persian Gulf The historical term used to describe the body of water between the Arabian Peninsula and Iran. , that he has requested that the Nautilus proceed first to Sharga [Sharjah] and then to Rasel Khyma [Ra's al-Khaymah], for the purpose of delivering a packet to Ephraim Gerrish Stannus, the Bushire Resident, who is currently on a tour of the lower part of the Gulf.
