The letter is overriding the Resident's previous instructions concerning the captured batilla (a small sea going vessel), conveyed in his letter to Captain Sealy dated 2 September 1824 (see f 27 1). It states that the batilla should not be broken up, but left in its present state pending the arrival of Sooltan bin Suggur's [Sulṭān bin Saqr] people.
