Content

The letter relates to a request received by the Shaikh of Aboothabee [Abu Dhabi] for the Resident to assist in the recovery of a boat taken from the port by its nakhuda [captain] without the owner’s permission. Jones writes that the boat was recovered by the British Agent at Lingah [Bandar-e Lengeh], and the culprit detained. Appended to the end of Jones’s letter is the translated purport of a letter received from the British Agent at Bandar-e Lengeh, dated 4 April 1856.
