and goodwill and that I shall interpret this Agreement in a
manner consistent with reason and truth; and I, Charles Clark
Mylles, declare that the Company acknowledges the Shaikh's
authority and his rights as the Ruler of the State of Qatr and
that it will respect those rights in every way.
Condition nineteenth . This Agreement shall not prevent me
from granting concessions to other parties for any article
other than the substances mentioned in Condition First; "but
the terms of such concessions shall not interfere with the
rights or the operations of the Company under this Agreement.
Condition Twentieth . All the moneys due to me according to
this Agreement shall be paid by the Company at the
Bank in and when the Company takes a receipt
from the said Bank, the receipt shall be a complete discharge
for the Company in respect to the payment of the sum mentioned
in the Bank 1 s receipt, I may designate another Bank or Banks,
as I may wish, to receive payments from the Company; and I
shall inform the Company of this in writing.
Condition Twenty First . This Agreement shall be binding on
the parties, their successors and assigns, and has been
written in Arabic and English and all due care has been
exercised to ensure that both texts are identical in meaning.
Should there be, at any time, disagreement as to the meaning
or interpretation of any clause in either text, we and the
Company agree to settle the matter by mutual discussion; failing
which we shall refer the question to arbitration according to
Condition Sixteenth.
