fonas of luxuries.

• financial condition and they reflect the material condition of the
tete. The totel revenue includes such items as sales of lands
•tc. and so cannot be taken as a genuine representation of revenue

in Customs revenue. This year it has fallen back to almost as
low as it was in 1344, an admittedly bad year.

very conservative basis the actual receipts fell short of the
