Letter informing the Colonel that he considered his letter No.1260 of 3 September (received 11 September) to be of an improper tone and style and disrespectful to Merewether as head of the province and that as has failed to take Merewether's recorded opinions as instructions and chosen to disregard them, Merewether had referred the matter to the Government of Bombay From c. 1668-1858, the East India Company’s administration in the city of Bombay [Mumbai] and western India. From 1858-1947, a subdivision of the British Raj. It was responsible for British relations with the Gulf and Red Sea regions. .
