The letter confirms the re-establishment of the Residency An office of the East India Company and, later, of the British Raj, established in the provinces and regions considered part of, or under the influence of, British India. in Bushire and the appointment of John Beaumont as Resident and George Green to its management. The letter discusses a number of finanical and administrative matters and includes a list of woolens/cloths sold. It reports that Sheikh Sadoon (brother of Sheikh Nassir and governor of Bushire in his absence) has requested details of woolen sales. It also notes that a letter was received from Shaikh Nassir which noted that a delegation had left Bussora [Basra] for Schiras [Shiraz] to give presents to Carim Cahn [Karim Khan] in hope of resolving their differences with the Persians.
