Letter regarding Pelly's notice of Captain Westbrooke's interest in the command of Dalhousie which he had intended simply as a communication of his application and that in his opinion Captain Elton of Clyde 's claims to the post were superior to Captain Westbrooke's.

The letter also asks when they can expect to see Dalhousie in the Gulf along with the cutter that Vigilant had made over to him.
