Content

The letter reports that Shaik Sadoon [Sheikh Sa‘dūn] is departing for Schirass [Shiraz] and that Sheikh Ise [‘Isa] will not join him. Also contained is a confession that the Bushire linguist did indeed travel to Carrack [Kharg Island] as suspected (and in disobedience of Company orders), but it is insisted that it was only in the interests of trade. A shortage of prime-coloured woollens is reported.
