Henry Willock, the British envoy to Persia, informs the British Political Resident A senior ranking political representative (equivalent to a Consul General) from the diplomatic corps of the Government of India or one of its subordinate provincial governments, in charge of a Political Residency. that he is preparing a report for the British Government, about increased foreign trade in the Persian Gulf Historically used by the British to refer to the sea area between the Arabian Peninsula and Iran. Often referred to as The Gulf or the Arabian Gulf. in recent years. Henry Willock asks the British Political Resident A senior ranking political representative (equivalent to a Consul General) from the diplomatic corps of the Government of India or one of its subordinate provincial governments, in charge of a Political Residency. to provide him with any relevant information, including the following statistics: (a) the type and quantity of British and Indian exports to Persia that are landed at the ports of the Persian Gulf Historically used by the British to refer to the sea area between the Arabian Peninsula and Iran. Often referred to as The Gulf or the Arabian Gulf. , (b) the number of British and Arab ships engaged in trade in the Persian Gulf Historically used by the British to refer to the sea area between the Arabian Peninsula and Iran.
