After Compliments.
Reference my telegram dated tne 15th June 1933 sent
to you regarding the arrival of Her Excellency Lady Willingdon
to Sharjah by ’Hanno’, I beg to say that prior to the arrival
of the aeroplane, I had informed Shaikh Sultan bin Saqur about
the arrival of Her Excellency to tne aerodrome. He got
prepared to receive her. I went to the aerodrome and remained
there waiting for her arrival. As soon as the aeroplane arrived,
I went out to receive her. The Shaikh also went to receive her
and we then entered the aerodrome. The Snaikn requested ner to
come down to his place which she accepted. We all went to the
house of the Shaikh. After sitting in the Majlis, the Shaikh
ordered 5 guns to be fired as a salute and presented her with a
pearl and a gold anklet of Indian make embedded with a diamond.
She was highly pleased. After coffee had been served, she left
the house of the Shaikh and went out. There, a show of horse
racing was performed after the Majlis nad been dissolved. Then
she visited the office of tne R.A. where I had rendered the
necessary services suitable to Her Excellency. We then returned
to the aerodrome. She said that as it was night time, sue wanted
to take rest and so she permitted us to leave. I told Her
Excellency that I would be glad to uo any service that Her
Excellency may require. She thanked me and the Shaikh. On the
morning of I5th June, I, and the Shaikh went to tne aerodrome,
but before reaching there, the aeroplane left and so we did not
reach in time so as to bid her good-bye.
Usual Ending.
