The Company shall be entitled to receive payment
or other consideration for the telecommunication services
rendered by it and in accordance with the rates prevailing.

into Keweit by the Company and which are necessary for the
repair, extension and meintenance of the said wireless

station, and any additions thereto, and of the said telephone

exchange (including the building or buildings in which
they are or may be worked) and subscribers apparatus or
otherwise for the Company’s purposes shall be exempted
from all cuatoms dues or charges of a Hire nature including
export dues. But it shall pay on all Personal Goods clothing
and general Merchandise imported by the Company or its
Staff for the personal use of its employees or for resale

This file contains two copies of a concession agreement between Cable & Wireless Limited and the Government of Bahrain (represented by Shaikh Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the ruler of Bahrain). The agreements (folios 3-16) were signed in the presence of Hugh Dunstan Rance, the British Political Agent A mid-ranking political representative (equivalent to a Consul) from the diplomatic corps of the Government of India or one of its subordinate provincial governments, in charge of a Political Agency. in Bahrain and have wax impressions of the Agency An office of the East India Company and, later, of the British Raj, headed by an agent. 's official seal on the reverse of their final folios. The agreements are bi-lingual (English and Arabic) and every folio of one copy (folios 10-17) has been stamped with Shaikh Salman's personal seal.

The file also contains draft copies of the agreement (folios 17-32) in both English and Arabic with annotations and corrections in pencil.
