Yfith reference to your letter D.O.No.C/815—la/43
of ^3rd October, 1940 and my D.0.198 dated 27th October,
1940, I have received a reply from the Commander-in-Chief,
East Indies Station; he regrets that, owing to shortage of
staff, he is unable to assist in this matter, but if the
California Arabian Standard Oil Company communicates direct
with the United States of America it can be assumed that
their transmissions are almost certain to be received in the
United Kingdom.
