Reference your kind letter No.wi002 dated 4th Sept,
1946 (8th Shawal, 1365) regarding consignments of arms and
ammunition which you say that they will arrive for sale in
the Arab Coast of the Gulf.
You have not said from where these arms will arrive,
pleased
and I would like to know these sources. I shall be gpnrirargMir
to inform you that I like cooperation with the representatives
of the Great Britain in all matters required by the circums
tances and I will exert my effort as possible as I cam. As
you have referred to the agreement of 1916, I take this
opr.ortunity to remind you of some of its provisions which
say that the Great British Government will allow us with a
quantity of arms and ammunitions and so on every year. I think
you are aware that several years have passed away and we have
not obtained anything of that (arms) which has caused us to be
in need of arras and ammunitions. You know that people like
us in the present situation and circumstances to be careful
and prepared, we need a large quantity of arms and ammunition
t& preserve our territory and supply our men, soldiers, and
policemen with arms when necessary. The situation urges that
we should be provided with materials and men for the sudden
exigencies and to preserve peace. For these reasons we request
you to arrange fior a permit to import what is possible of arms
and ammunition and to afford your friend an assistance in this
case, because the necessity required it. I am confident of
your assistance and cooperation with me in what I have saftd
above.
