October, 1937.
His Highness called yesterday to tell no that he had
received a "putting off" reply from the shaikh of Bahrain, - but,
said His Highness, ”1 mky go all the same".
He had heard that there still existed a barrier against
trade and travelling, between ^atar and Bahrain, and this needed
putting right.
2. In spite of the above, my final impression, after I had
talked to him a little more, was that His Witness is unlikely to
go to Bahrain just now.
