The Political Agent A mid-ranking political representative (equivalent to a Consul) from the diplomatic corps of the Government of India or one of its subordinate provincial governments, in charge of a Political Agency. ,

I have the honour to forward herewith copy
of a letter which I have received from the Cornmander-in-
Chief, East Indies Station vtfiich has been addressed to
various authorities on the East Indies Station..
2. I have been asked to review the situation in
the Persian Gulf The historical term used to describe the body of water between the Arabian Peninsula and Iran. . Although the Commander—in«-Chief refers
to British port3 f in such matters he wishes me to consider
the interests of countries allied to or in Treaty agreement
with the British Empire.
5. In so far as Bahrain is concerned I propose to
reply that I consider the supervision of landing of cargo
and persons is such that there is no possibility of
unauthorised persons or material being landed.
4. I should be grateful if you would inform me if
you concur in this view and I presume you will inform, the
Political Resident A senior ranking political representative (equivalent to a Consul General) from the diplomatic corps of the Government of India or one of its subordinate provincial governments, in charge of a Political Residency. of this matter in due course.

A letter from the Senior Naval Officer in the Persian Gulf The historical term used to describe the body of water between the Arabian Peninsula and Iran. (Commodore Cosmo Moray Graham) to the Political Agent A mid-ranking political representative (equivalent to a Consul) from the diplomatic corps of the Government of India or one of its subordinate provincial governments, in charge of a Political Agency. at Bahrain, dated 22 January 1941 (f 2) encloses a letter from the Commander-in-Chief of the East Indies Station, dated 27 December 1940 (f 3), relating to port security and the resources required to check ships entering British ports. In his letter, Graham writes that the supervision of the landing of cargo at Bahrain should ensure there is no possibility of enemy persons or material being landed, to which the Political Agent A mid-ranking political representative (equivalent to a Consul) from the diplomatic corps of the Government of India or one of its subordinate provincial governments, in charge of a Political Agency. , in a letter dated 26 January 1941, concurs (f 4).
