Translation of letter dated the 12th .labia 1 al Thani 1369
(30-1-50) from Shaikh Shakhbut bin Sultan, Ruler of Abu-
Dhabi, to .Mr. F.D. Stobart, the Political Officer, Trucial
Coast.

1950 corresponding to the 25th Rabia 1 al Av/v/al 1369. You
mentioned that you have received a letter from the Political
Agent, Bahrain, about arbitration betv/een me and the
Petroleum Development ( Trucial Coast A name used by Britain from the nineteenth century to 1971 to refer to the present-day United Arab Emirates. ) Limited, and you
mentioned that an arbitrator will be appointed on behalf of
me by the Political Resident A senior ranking political representative (equivalent to a Consul General) from the diplomatic corps of the Government of India or one of its subordinate provincial governments, in charge of a Political Residency. . I have to inform you that I
