Reference your letter No.C/PA-129 dated the 9th
April 1944.
2. If your company is prepared to release Kr. Hopper
it is considered that owing to the shortage of experienced
engineers 'with British oil companies operating abroad ho
should offer his services to a British Company at least
for the duration of the war. Should Mr. Hopper tee unv/illing
to take this action and your company desires to dispense
with Ills services ha will tee given the choice between joining
a British company and Military service. But if you
desire to retain him with a view to his going to America
after the war no objection will be raised.
3. If Mr. Hopper elects to transfer to a British company
the Petroleum Division have offered, on receipt of parti
culars of his age, qualifications, experience, v/hether married
or not, and his preference with regard to location — that is
Middle East or South America — 7 to put him in touch with a
Hr it i eh e omp any.
