Meanwhile, as Tour Excellency
reminds us in your letter dated
the 11th of May 1943, payment is
due in a few days* time and, there
fore, in order to comply with
Article 20 of the Concession and
to discharge the Company’s
obligation to make the annual
payment by May the 17th yearly,
we have credited Your Excellency’s
account in the Eastern Bank with
Rs.3,13,250 and we enclose the
Bank’s receipt, which, as stated
in Article 20, is a full acquittance
of th e Company’s liability for
the sum mentioned.
We would add that, should
silver, as a result of the
Political Agent A mid-ranking political representative (equivalent to a Consul) from the diplomatic corps of the Government of India or one of its subordinate provincial governments, in charge of a Political Agency. 's efforts, be
obtainable later on and the
necessary export permits are also
granted, we should of course be
pleased to assist Your Excellency
in transporting the silver from
Bahrain to Zekrit. This assistance
would also apply to notes if silver
is not procurable. In either case,
we should require a cheque on
the Eastern Bank for the amount
desired signed by Your Excellency
and sent to us as an authority for
us to draw the money from the
Bank.
