The file contains cover letters and correspondence relating to the distribution and destruction of the daily intelligence summaries of the Middle East Intelligence Centre in Cairo. A copy of the summaries was sent from the Political Residency An office of the East India Company and, later, of the British Raj, established in the provinces and regions considered part of, or under the influence of, British India. in the Persian Gulf The historical term used to describe the body of water between the Arabian Peninsula and Iran. at Bushire to the Political Agency An office of the East India Company and, later, of the British Raj, headed by an agent. at Kuwait for perusal, and then onwards to Bahrain and Muscat. Instructions were that it was then destroyed.

The file contains no intelligence summaries. These were almost certainly destroyed at Muscat, as instructed.

Folios 57-58 are internal office notes.

Foliation: the main foliation sequence (used for referencing) commences at the front cover with 1 and terminates at the back cover with 60; these numbers are written in pencil, are circled, and are located in the top right corner of the recto The front of a sheet of paper or leaf, often abbreviated to 'r'. side of each folio. An additional foliation sequence is also present in parallel between ff 3-56; these numbers are also written in pencil, but are not circled, and are located in the same position as the main sequence.
