The Sub Postmaster, Bahrein infoms me that hie
Superintendent is in favour of opening an extra Depart
mental Branch Post Office at iiuharraq and for this
purpose he has been asked to furnish a return for a
fortnight# showing the number of articles received and
desptached by the people of Muharraq.
The Sub Post* aster requests that all people
of that island nay be notified that, during a fortnight#
they should hand in all their postal articles at the
Manama Post Office# instead of posting them in letter
boxes.
The Postal Superintendent also enquires whether
the Bahrein Government would be prepared to appoint# at
their own cost# a trustworthy official for conveying
mail bags between Manama and Muharraq.

The file contains correspondence and telegrams regarding the need for facilities to convey mail at Moharraq (Muharraq, Bahrain) and the subsequent arrangements for the opening of a Post Office, staffed with a postman sent from Manama via boat twice a week to make deliveries, clean the letterbox and sell stamps. A sketch of the building rented to host the Post Office at Muharraq is on folio 77.

The file also discusses the proposal to open a branch telegraph Office of the Wireless in the Bazaar at Manama, which is refused by the Imperial and International Communications Limited.
