The file comprises correspondence relating to the distribution of notices concerning shipping regulations at Bahrain and along the Trucial Coast A name used by Britain from the nineteenth century to 1971 to refer to the present-day United Arab Emirates. . Correspondence dated 1935 (ff 2-8) relates to a notice, issued by the Deputy Conservator of the Bombay Port Trust, dated 12 June 1935, announcing the exemption of compulsory pilotage for sailing vessels under 350 net registered tonnage, including the translation of the notice into Arabic, and its distribution on the Trucial Coast A name used by Britain from the nineteenth century to 1971 to refer to the present-day United Arab Emirates. by the Residency An office of the East India Company and, later, of the British Raj, established in the provinces and regions considered part of, or under the influence of, British India. Agent at Sharjah. Also included in the file is a Government of Bahrain notice, dated 26 June 1938, announcing changes in rates paid (referred to as Kanchia and Hamali ) on the landing of cargo at Bahrain (f 9).
