Plan of the proposed coal depot at Koweit [Kuwait].
The plan is an accompaniment to letter no. 2461 from Lieutenant-Colonel Percy Zachariah Cox, Political Resident A senior ranking political representative (equivalent to a Consul General) from the diplomatic corps of the Government of India or one of its subordinate provincial governments, in charge of a Political Residency. in the Persian Gulf Historically used by the British to refer to the sea area between the Arabian Peninsula and Iran. Often referred to as The Gulf or the Arabian Gulf. , to the Secretary to the Government of India in the Foreign Department, Simla, dated 11 September 1910 (a copy of the letter appears on folio 100). A note in crayon on the verso The back of a paper sheet or leaf. of the map states that it was sent with the Secretary's letter of 13 October 1910.
The plan shows coal godowns, proposed pier, and 'Shaik's [Shaikh's] Coal Shed'.
Additionally, there is a 'Section on Y.Z.' (scale: vertical 10 feet = 1 inch; horizontal 60 feet = 1 inch) inscribed 'Copied from plan of Shweikh made by Officers of H.M.S. Lapwing (July 1909)'.
