A regulation issued by the sovereign of the United Kingdom on the advice of the Privy Council.
, 1889. Liability With reference to your Excellency’s Letter
copy of correspondence* with the Foreign Office
on the ^ subject of the claim preferred by Her
Majesty s Charge d’Affaires and Acting 1 Consnl-
2. Your Excellency will see that I have admitted
the liability of Indian revenues for the amount
claimed in the present instance on the ground of
convenience, and I beg that the necessary payment
may be made to the authorities at Bangkok. "
3. With reference to the question raised in the
last paragraph of the letter to the Foreign Office
of the 10th instant, I shall be glad to receive in due
course the views of your Excellency’s Government
as to the expediency of maintaining, so far as
British India is concerned, the system of criminal
justice as it at present exists under the Siamese-.
