It is a matter of universal (comment) ? here that Sardar Leader of a tribe or a polity; also refers to a military rank or title given to a commander of an army or division. Muhtasham has
recently been having messages sent to the police and other officials in Kerman
demanding money payments on pain of dismissal. Sums vary 150 to 500
tomans 10,000 Persian dinars, or a gold coin of that value. .
He has also written to Sardar Leader of a tribe or a polity; also refers to a military rank or title given to a commander of an army or division. Nasrat saying he must collect initial dona
tions from Deputy Governors of districts and arrange for monthly payments by

probably too much afraid to inform me himself and my information is from in
dependent sources.
Endeavours have also been made from Tehran, without success as yet, to

tion is as strong as ever.

The papers are arranged in approximate chronological order from the front to the rear of the file. The subject 348 (Kerman affairs) consists of two volumes IOR/L/PS/10/334-335, with part 1 in the first and part 2 in the second volume.
