January 10th. l93o,
I have the honour to transmit to you herewith a
translation of an announcement which was published in
the semi-official newspaper "dmm al -aira" of Decemoer
10th., 193V, regarding goods imported into Saudi -rabia.
2 . the Jedda customs authorities state, in reply
to oral enquiries, that the reflation is only meant
to apply to goods entering Saudi territory by a land
frontier and not to merchandise arriving by sea. It
is true that the wording is general, but the importers
of .goods from overseas, both foreign and Saudi, are
taking no notice of the regulation, and I am satisfied
that it can be ignored except in so far as good=
imported "by laud are concerned.
