ceeded to demand enough dates for two days, and threatened
to shoot if this quantity was not produced. They ’eventually
reconciled themselves to going without the dates and allowed
the cars to pass.

There were no cases of cholera reported from Dubai
during the period under review. The Medical Officer, frucial
Coast, has inoculated one quarter of the population of Dubai,
and the R.A.F. Medical Officer at Sharjah has inoculated about
the same number of people in Sharjah. The fact that no further
cases of cholera have occurred makes the public unwilling to
submit to preventive treatment and inoculation is proceeding
slowly.
