Routine correspondence received at and sent from the Bahrain Political Agency An office of the East India Company and, later, of the British Raj, headed by an agent. . The principal correspondents are: the Political Agent A mid-ranking political representative (equivalent to a Consul) from the diplomatic corps of the Government of India or one of its subordinate provincial governments, in charge of a Political Agency. ; representatives of the Government of Bahrain (Charles Dalrymple Belgrave; Claud Cranbrook Lewis DeGrenier).

Most of the correspondence relates to a miscellany of trivial matters, ranging from the forwarding of mail, lost swimming caps, an urgent need for cooks, and broken-down refrigerators. Matters of greater import include:
