First craft has been here over two weeks. Boat
is called TAISAR and is also registered Kuwait No .371 ar*i
master is Kuwaiti. He says he sailed from Karachi over four
months ago for Qatar, Buahire and Jao thence to Muscat where
he is now loading for Basra. He has manifest issued in CA3BA
near Fao dated March 27th and it therefore appears information
supplied by Military Intelligence is not correct. Hz pass to
Bandar Abbas.

The majority of the correspondence is between the Political Agent A mid-ranking political representative (equivalent to a Consul) from the diplomatic corps of the Government of India or one of its subordinate provincial governments, in charge of a Political Agency. in Kuwait, and the British consular staff in Baghdad, as well as the Political Residency An office of the East India Company and, later, of the British Raj, established in the provinces and regions considered part of, or under the influence of, British India. in Bushire. Of note are documents that track efforts to identify smugglers' methods and intermediary networks. Other documents trace gold and currency prices between various Gulf and Indian Ocean ports by British officials in order to ascertain the profitability of various smuggling routes.
