Delemi ibn Shamkhi .—A friendly Shaikh of ’Afaj, cousin of Hiewey
(22nd Noyember 1915).
Deli Murad. —Captain, Turk, Officer Commanding, Machine Gun Section,
1st Lancers. Described as a daring officer. (15th April 1916).
De Mare t Major. —Gendarmerie, Kermanshah. (17th April 1915.) Sent
to Berlin under arrest for insubordination. (9th July 1916).
Dhabbah al-Hafidh .—Shaikh of Al-bu-Husain (Bani Zaid).
Dhaidan ibn Hithlain .—A leading Shaikh of the ’Ajman, with Ibn
Eashid. (13th February 1916 and 2nd July 1916).
Dhari ibn Principal Shaikh of Al-Aslam (section of Shammar).
With ’Ajaimi at end of 1915, but leaves him. (25th December 1915). Hostile
to Ibn Eashid when he came to the Zubair-Khamisyah line in Summer
1916.
Dhirb Al-bu-Khidair .—Of the Azairij, said to have visited ’Ajaimi.
(13th December 1915), and to have been implicated in the attack on our
Suwaij reconnaissance. (14th January 1916),
Dieckhut, Von. —Dr., Political Adviser, present at funeral of Von der
Goltz at Baghdad. (15th May 1916).
Dikran. —2nd Lieutenant, Armenian Ordnance Officer attached to Cavalry
Brigade. (15th April 1916).
Diwdn al-Tahir .—Shaikh of Al-bu-Sumairah (subordinate of Al-Sakran,
Azairij). Arrived in Hai from Shatrah on 30th December 1915 ; returned by
12th January 1916.
Dost f Ali Khan .—Government supporter, represented as marching on
Shiraz, 15th April 1916.
