I have the honour to ackriowledge the
receipt of your letter No.2155-36/7$ of 26th
July, 1944 on the subject of the export of
Simsim and Cocoanut oil from Mombasd.
2. It is regretted that the commodities
in question are in such a short supply in this
country and it is unlikely that any exports can
be allowed.
5. The authority for dealing in export#
etc. of produce is, however, the East African
Proauction and Supply Council, P.O.Box 1091,
Nairobi to whom a copy of your letter and this
renly are sent with a request that they should
communicate with you direct.

This file contains correspondence related to a request made to the Political Agency An office of the East India Company and, later, of the British Raj, headed by an agent. by a Bahraini merchant named Mohamed Makki Albaharnah to import simsim [sesame] oil from Mombasa, Kenya into Bahrain.

This request was refused by the East African Production and Supply Council due to shortages in the area and this decision was then reported back to Albaharnah by the Political Agency An office of the East India Company and, later, of the British Raj, headed by an agent. .
