i am directed by the Marquess of Zetland to acknowledge receipt of Mr Eraser's
letter of ^4th June (your reference O.A./Qatar/2) on the subject of the Qatar Oil
Concession, and to express on behalf of His Majesty's Government their formal
approval of the Concession granted to the Company by the Sheikh of Qatar on the
17th May 1935.
Copies of this correspondence are being sent to the Political Resident A senior ranking political representative (equivalent to a Consul General) from the diplomatic corps of the Government of India or one of its subordinate provincial governments, in charge of a Political Residency. in the
Persian Gulf The historical term used to describe the body of water between the Arabian Peninsula and Iran. with a view to action being taken as indicated in parasraDh 4 of Colnnpl

1935, L have been instructed by His Majesty's Government to inform you that the
arrangements set forth in that letter, and your acceptance of them conveyed in vour
letter dated the 6th June 1935 (5th Rabi' al Awwal 1354), have been communicated
by His Majesty s Government to the Anglo-Persian Oil Company and that the
Company have formally confirmed their acceptance of these arrangements.
