2. I have discussed this matter with the
merchants and they unanimously agreed that shipments
may be made via Bahrain provided that no import duty
will be pa 7 /-able to the Bahrain G-overnmmit. They,
however, have no objection to the payment of transit
dues at the time of the re-export of the goods from
Bahrain to the Trucial Coast A name used by Britain from the nineteenth century to 1971 to refer to the present-day United Arab Emirates. .
