Secret. Pastori.
Your telegram Ho.477 dated 7th March.
In view of information that all likely Italian
ships have sailed from Abadan while Pastor! is still in Baghdad
Senior Naval Officer is anxious to withdraw sloop from Muscat.
I have been in touch with Agent who confirms belief that Pastor!
will not sail as he has not received pre-arranged telegram*
Accordingly I agree to Senior Naval Officer's proposal to
withdraw sloop.
Though Agent undertakes to write extremely
discouraging report to Pastor!, I presume R«A,F. watch on
Pastor! ? s movements will continue for some time to come, so that,
if Dibblinah (sic) scheme is revived later, arrangements for
sloop and Muscat Infantry can be put into force again at short
notice.
