Appoinlment of British Resilient in Cyrennien
Sir,
I have to inform you that, consequent upon the establishment
in Cyrenaica of a Cyrenaican Government with reponsibility over
internal affairs, the title of “ Chief Administrator ” was by Order
in Council altered to “British Resident” as from 28th October,
1949.
2. I have therefore to request that future correspondence be
addressed to the British Resident, British Residency An office of the East India Company and, later, of the British Raj, established in the provinces and regions considered part of, or under the influence of, British India. , Benghazi,
Cyrenaica.
3. A similar circular has been addressed to His Majesty’s
Representative (as No. 0140).
