Jeddali states that strength of Akhwan in JOiurma area is about
2,000 with an additional 2,000 if required, two or throe days
journey distant. Present situation is quiescent. Orders have
been issued to Sheriffman forces to remain on defensive only
; repelling raiding parties. The view expressed here is that
I impending fall of Medina will have restraining influence on Bin
| Saud and probably tend to more peaceful situation.
P. The Emirs Ali and Abdulla have concentrated the
whole of their trained forces ? weet of Medina with view of
occupying town on its surrender. There is no change in strengths
of tfained troops. The Bedouin numbers fluctuate as usual. East
of Taif is Shakir with about 600 men whoso task is to repel Akhtmn
' raiding parties. About 3,500 Sheriffians aro immediately east of
Taif covering that place and ....... as under Sheriff Mohsen and
Abdulla B a sha with orders to remain strictly on defensive.
