Inscribed on verso The back of a sheet of paper or leaf, often abbreviated to 'v'. : 'Qatar Map'; and 'Qatar Map to - Mr E.V.Packer, P.C.L. Bahrain.'
The map was supplied by Ernest Vincent Packer, Manager, Petroleum Concessions Limited, Bahrain to the Political Agent A mid-ranking political representative (equivalent to a Consul) from the diplomatic corps of the Government of India or one of its subordinate provincial governments, in charge of a Political Agency. , Bahrain. Correspondence relating to the request is in IOR/R/15/2/161, folios 218, 220, 225, 228.

- Physical characteristics
Foliation: the foliation number, 227, is written in pencil, enclosed in a circle, and appears in the top right corner of the recto The front of a sheet of paper or leaf, often abbreviated to 'r'. side of the folio. An additional foliation number, which is not circled, appears in the same position as the main number.
Condition: the map is described in original accompanying correspondence of 3 March 1942 (folio 225) as 'not in very good condition', and is faint.
