exports but he strongly objects to the proposal that Ibn Sa'ud
keep a Customs clerk here.
I learn that he had previously discussed question with seven
of the leading merchants, of whcm the two moat important saw
no objection but the other five viewed the presence of a
clerk with very great suspicion and urged him to stand oot*
against it.
