2. The question of obtaining a refund of the amount
involved still under the consideration of His Highness
the Sultan of Muscat who, owing to the owner of the boat’s
absence from Muscat, has not yet been aole to give any reply.
The owner has now been recalled to Muscat and it is hoped
that his highness 1 reply will be received shortly.

The file contains correspondence concerning: the shipwreck on the coast of Italian Somaliland, on 20 March 1938, of a group of Muscat Arabs on board the dhow A term adopted by British officials to refer to local sailing vessels in the western Indian Ocean. [sailing vessel] ‘ Galib ’, bound for Zanzibar and the Tanganyika Territory; and the reimbursement of the expenses incurred by the Government of Italian Somaliland and the Government of Kenya in the transport of the rescued party to Mombasa, Kenya, and the subsequent transport of most of the passengers to Zanzibar.
