Letter from Stephen Babington, Secretary to the Government at Bombay Castle, to Lieutenant William Bruce, Resident at Bushire, acknowledging the receipt of a letter dated 9 September, and informing that the Government is glad to find that the Joasimese [Qasimi] Chief, Shaikh Hassen ben Ramah [Hasan bin Rahma], is keen to observe the Treaties and respect British ships.

The letter encloses a letter from C. W. Elwood, Secretary to Government at Porebunder [Porbandar, India] on 17 August 1814 to Francis Warden, Chief Secretary to the Government at Bombay, worried that the Joasimese [Qasimi] Pirates will reappear in the Persian Gulf The historical term used to describe the body of water between the Arabian Peninsula and Iran. to attack smaller British ships, avoiding the bigger cruizers and armed vessels.
