Letter from Francis Warden, Chief Secretary to Government of Bombay From c. 1668-1858, the East India Company’s administration in the city of Bombay [Mumbai] and western India. From 1858-1947, a subdivision of the British Raj. It was responsible for British relations with the Gulf and Red Sea regions. , to Lieutenant William Bruce, Resident at Bushire, transmitting a copy of a letter sent on the same day by Warden to R T Goodwin, Secretary and Translator in the Office of the Country Correspondence, forwarding a translation of a letter from Cassee Ghobab, East India Company's Broker Often a local commercial agent in the Gulf who regularly performed duties of intelligence gathering and political representation. at Muscat, to Sir Evan Nepean, Governor of Bombay, dated 5 March 1814, giving an update on the reconciliation between two local rulers, Mahomed bin Sulamu [Mohammed bin Sulayem] and His Highness Syyud Iaced, and informing that Mahomed bin Sulamu had suggested that British ships were marked, so that the Joasimees [Qasimi] would not molest them.
