Popular elementary textbook of astronomy by Sharaf al-Dīn Maḥmūd ibn Muḥammad ibn ‘Umar al-Jaghmīnī al-Khwārizmī (شرف الدين محمود بن محمد بن عمر الجغميني الخوارزمي; fl. early 13th century).

The text contains the following diagrams:

• (1) The cosmos (f. 67r);
• (2) The spheres of the Sun, the stars, Mercury and the Moon (ff. 68v-69r);
• (3) Unfilled space left blank for a diagram (f. 84r).

Begins (f. 66v, lines 2-5):

الحمد لله كفاء أفضاله والصلوة على نبيه محمد وعلى آله يقول عبد الله الفقير إلى رحمة الله

محمود بن محمد بن عمر الجغميني وفقه الله إني ألفت هذا الكتاب في هيئة العالم تذكرة

من بعدي لكل عالم متحريًا فيه التلخيص مع البيان وإيجاز الألفاظ إلى بسط

المعاني على حسب الإمكان وسميته الملخص في الهيئة ...

Ends (f. 86r, lines 12-17):

... وقد بذلت الوسع في

كشف المعاني وإظهارها مع إيجاز الألفاظ واختصارها اداء لشرائط

الامتثال والخدمة مع التحرّز عن الإملال والزحمة ولعلّ هذا المقدار

الذي أوردت كاف لتحصل ما أردت واف بما جرت الإشارات

إليه فالأولى أن أقتصر عليه فليكن هذا خاتمة الكتاب والله أعلم
